MNET RECOMMENDS: TEACHING KIT

Live TV

National Film Board of Canada. 1996. $39.95

teaching kitLive TV is about four kids, two large turtles, and a television that comes to life. The turtles - which belong to the school - disappear while Jamie is supposed to be looking after them. To Jamie's relief, the live TV takes control of the situation and promises to solve the mystery.

But the children discover finally that the live TV is funny and entertaining - but not too well-equipped for real-life situations.

This video, aimed at children aged 6 to 11, is intended to get kids thinking about how television and the movies influence them. The extensive teaching guide provides activities to extend and enrich this process.

Live TV can be ordered online from the National Film Board.
